Sketch Saturday & JB Challenge

Well I have had a lovely few days away from work. Crafty mojo vanished and instead I have been relaxing, watching TV and doing boring chores. I made a couple of quick cards last night and plan to make a few more today
First up I have set a colour challenge over at JB Forum. A colour I rarely use which is ORANGE. I am determined to continue my quest to use up papers that I have had for a while and so here is the first few sheets gone from the Ambrosia range.
Sketch Saturday provided a lovely sketch to work with - kicked me into making a card as I do love a good sketch! Thanks girls.

Touching Base!

Just in case anyone is reading and wondering where I am.
VERY busy with work - I have worked 10 days straight and just home after a 15 hour shift!
Not much time for card making until next week when I will play catch up.
I have done a few challenges which by the time I photo in daylight and upload will be long overdue - I will update on Sunday when I am next off. (Unless I sleep all day) :)

365 Cards - Day 9

OK a quick post from me today!
Back at work (Boo Hiss!) but not a bad day in the end. I will be back in the swing of things pretty quick as that is how retail is - but I may still sulk for a couple of days as is expected after a holiday!
So I am determined to keep up with 365 cards site, and todays challenge is to use scraps. Well i have quite a lot of these! And I love using them so a bonus. These are offcuts of Noteworthy papers which i have used quite a bit lately. And I still have new sheets to cut into so I guess you will see them again soon, but a few scraps turned into something new anyway.
The image is one received in a swap, and not normally my thing - but I have to say it was a fun one to colour in!

365 Cards & JB Challenge

365 Cards today supplied us with a lovely sketch by Kazan of 2S4U fame!
Lovely sketch and I enjoyed playing so thanks very much. If you haven't been over to 365 Cards yet then it is well worth a visit!
Second up Lisa challenged us HERE to make anything using Brown Kraft Paper and bright colours. I actually had to go out to buy brown kraft paper and it cost me a whoppng 45p for a HUGE roll of it. So you may be seeing it a bit more!
And now I am feeling slightly depressed - back to work tomorrow and I have that Sunday night feeling that is intensified having just had 7 blisfull days off. Although I am not quite sure how they went so quickly! So back to evening only crafting for Bex until my next holiday - which I will be booking tomorrow as I quite like this not working lark!

365 - Day 4

Ok I have sort of mucked this one up on 2 counts!
First the challenge is to draw inspiration from an advert. So I picked this image from Dulux to try to challenge me to use green, with a subtle hint of brown and pink ........ except i don't really do green, and although the light is bad I can't say this card is honestly green!!
So the Ad ....... And my "green inspired" card.
Sort of PMSL!!

Then I go back to the 365 challenge site to upload and see the edited details that we were supposed to use the ad they displayed.
Double oopsy!!
Ah well, I am ticking it off as it was all done with good intentions!

365 Cards Day 3 & JB Challenge

Running a bit behind with 365 cards which is not a good start in the 1st week! I am playing catch up gradually though as this is a personal challenge to see how long I can last!
So Day 3 challenge was to use Ribbon & Flower & Button.And over at JB Forum there is a challenge to use gems on any project you like - and there is a Gem Wheel up for grabs for the first player out of the hat next Friday! Penny Black & 365 Cards

Penny Black Saturday challenged us to feature "something to eat" on our card this week so here is my entry. And it is Day 2 over at 365 Cards
Quite a tricky challenge I think - to only use 2 embellishments. Sounds easy enough till you try it! Ayway, I have made an acetate card which I am not sure about but I haven't cheated - only 1 bit of ribbon and 1 brad!

New Challenge Blog!

And one with a great idea too! The site is 365 cards and the idea is a daily challenge to get all us crafters actually crafting. Excellent idea!
I don't know that I will be able to play every day but I have certainly bookmarked it and will join in when I can! Crikey - I really should try to do it daily, maybe if I use it to make a simple quick card every day it will get my mojo right into action! Anyway, today is a sketch challenge and I havekept it quite simple!
Good luck to the new site - I think it is a fab concept and will be watching with interest. If you plan to play along then please leave a comment here so I can touch base with you and get to know those who are playing! Right - off to get dinner on ........ and I am now off work for a whole week and am chuffed to little mintballs! (as questioned on this phrase - it means I am extremely happy!)

3 Challenges & Easter Bunnies @ Hobbycraft!

What a lovely weekend!
I have cleaned and sorted and also made a few cards.
First up Sue challenged us over at Just Bex Forum with rather nice template. You can see it HERE
I think I may have tweaked it a bit but Sue always cheats so I won't lose sleep over it! Second up the fabulous Penny Black Challenge Blog who set the challenge of making a Get Well Soon card using one of their stamps. So here is my effort.

Third up the Basic Grey Challenge Blog set a colour challenge with a few different options. I chose Pink & Brown and used Mainly Blush Papers.

And finally for those that listen to me drone on and on about how hard I work on stuff for work = and to date have shown nothing! Well here is my latest product I am championing ..... the Easter Bunny! I am such a child!!!! So pop on down to Hobbycraft and buy a bunny - they really do need homes for easter - specially if you are in the Basildon area as I may have bought in just a few :)!

A couple of cards!

The above card is for the Basic Grey Challenge blog. The challenge this week is to "mix it up" so I have used Ambrosia and Perhaps papers. Quite a simple card but the image is quite detailed so sometimes simple is best!

Thawing out Tuesday!

OK would have sounded better if it was Thursday but today the snow is clearing and I am hping by tomorrow normal driving conditions will be restored!
So today I have mostly been doing nothing - relaxing!
I did make a quick card for the challenge template over at Friday Sketchers. A lovely template to play with so thanks girls!
I also had a play with a colour challenge for JB forum - to use pink and green. Another nice easy one for playing with :)

Now I am off to relax a bit more - I really have wasted today doing nothing which normally makes me mad - but today I am OK with it as I am off work this weekend so plan to play a bit more then!

A couple of challenges!

First up Lisa challeneged us over at JB Forum to make a teeny card with a touchy feel, with s trip of something- and quickly! So here is a very quick teeny card using scraps from a card made yesterday! Feely element is the felt.Secondly is my car for the sketch over at Papertake Weekly challenge blog. Not really colours I would normally use but I am trying to work through old stuff! Right I am off to tend to a very poorly cat who has now been asleep on my bed for 8 hours ..... in between constant sneezing, snotting and general eye dribbles. Poor old man - he has cat flu, hopefully the chicken I am roasting will cheer him up a wee bit! He must be ill though as he has not swiped at Maisie all day!

Rainy Sunday!

So when it chucks it down with rain all day that is a good opportunity to stay in and craft, well after you have done all the chores of course :)
Over at Basic Grey Challenge site there was a recipe. Which I think I have followed! Papers used are Stella Ruby

And the fab challenge blog that is Penny Black Saturday Challenge asked us to use a frame. Now I would have loved to make a frame for an image - but lets say me and craft knives do not get on! So I opted for a framed sentiment using a slide mount (Small cheat I guess!)

Now I am off to watch TV, chill out and get an early night ......... all this relaxing this weekend has me totally chilled out!

A Crafty Afternoon!

I have spent a lovely few hours this afternoon playing and making a good old mess!
First up the very talented Sue over at the JB Forum challenged us to make something "clear". Her samples were stunning - a card, a LO and a mini album which can all be seen HERE.
I have acetate here but never made a card using it - a very simple one from me, I may try again and be a bit more adventurous!
Second up there is a challenge to use "Polka Dots" over at Caardvarks. Quite pleased with myself as I have used up some scraps of really old paper - the mountain is gradually reducing ........ should be gone by 2012 :)

Third up I found a really lovely new challenge blog that I would definately recommend a visit to! Right up my street as it is (a) Template based and (b) all designed to get you using your stash - old and new! So for the Sketch and Stash challenge I have made this card. Old - Blooms and paper, New - The rubber stamp coloured in wth my new promarkers!

Off to have a bit of a tidy up and may play again!

A couple of challenges completed

Well a busy last week at work, but I am heading into a weekend off and plan to play catch up with all the fab challenges I am missing out on - and I have loads of cards to make, and loads of stash to use up!
So moving on, firstly for Grace - a Pic of Maisie this evening trying to help me craft. Instead with her head on my craft desk staring at me I feel "watched"! I should never have moved my room round and given her access via the bed!
So what have me and my helper made today?

Second up a challenge for the Penny Black Challenge blog - to "go dotty!"

Well I had to buy a new stamp for the occassion - it is SUCH a hard life!

First up Lisa over at Just Bex Forum challenged us to make spmething "Old and Haggered". I cracked up laughing as I am feeling old and haggered but decided not to cheat by uploading a pic of myself ...... instead I made the above card and had fun playing with glimmer mists which have been unloved for quite some time!

Second up a sketch from Di Hickman - a very simple little card from me as I was using up some scraps of plain card.

Off to do a food shop and then I will hopefully be back to play a bit more before I return to a very hectic week at work tomorrow.

Quick card!

Ooh I played a little bit!
I spotted a FAB sketch over at Caardvarks
The sketch is from the very talented Becky Fleck - I just love her sketches, they always work out unlike the ones I attempt to create!
As for an update in Bex Land ........ let me see..........
Work - I had the Annual Directors store visit yesterday, really loved the fact the Store Manager was off so it was down to me to give the right answers! Lets say I tried my best and I am still alive and no screaming phone calls today over anything so hopefully work is still OK!!

I am off this weekend and plan to play in PJS all weekend - so far I am doing quite good at this crafting as opposed to just working in 2009 if I do say so myself!

Daylight ..........

Well OK it is dark outside but I have a daylight lamp now in my craft space so technically I am meant to feel like it is day time? Hmmm Light is brighter but it is not fooling me I am crackered still after a busy weekend at work!
But I am still on my crafting mission to play in the evenings rather than do work stuff ......... not sure how long it will last, my brain is still ticking with a long list of stuff to get done!
Anyway, first up I found a challenge blog called Stamp Something which hopefully I will be able to play along with as I like my stamps :) The challenge this week is to use something new - so new stamp bought yesterday! It looks very much like the leaning tower though, I think it may be me cutting it out slightly wonky rather than the design of the stamp itself!

And second up I have just played making a few cards using up paper .... I really am drowning in so much of the stuff. And yes one of my New Years resolutions is to gradually work through all the 6 x 6 pads and loose sheets of paper I have mounting up here. So I thought I would ask the girls over at the forum to join in and see if they could use some old stuff up!

Apologies for such bad pics but it is so hard this time of year to get good ones when you are out of the house 12 hours a day!

And now I am off to have a wee blog hop, and then off to bed as I am in work early tomorrow ........ no rest for the wicked and all that :)

End of 2008 - And a Happy New Year!

Another Year nearly over.
Time really does go by so quickly - it is kind of frightening!
So I thought I would end 2008 with a blog and a bit of a Bex ramble.
First up some crafting from today.
First up a Template challenge for the forum. Very simple for all of those who may have a sore head tomorrow :) Second up a challenge I completed earlier in the week for Papertake Weekly

Third up a clipboard for Katie at work to go with the planner featured below.

And now onto the Bex ramble .........

So much has happened in the last few years that has knocked me sideways.

I have finally found a career that I really love and that is a good starting point - although in 2009 I plan to focus on other things a bit more to get the balance right!

2009 for me - well I have made quite a diary of things I need to address and deal with. I won't bore you all with my personal life but suffice to say that I have a really clear head right now of what I want to acheive this year and where my priorities should be placed.

I am going to make this a really good year for me. (And of course Maisie!)

So I will leave you all with many good wishes for the year ahead, I hope it brings you everything you want from life right now.

I do plan to be around more this year in blogland ........... but as usual we shall see :)

A Little bit achieved

Well I cannot believe that it is Christmas next week. I really do need to get a wriggle on if I am going to get everything done in time. I guess I wouldn't be Bex if I was organised though :)
So this is what I made at the weekend for one of my team at work. I have a second almost finished and then I want to make one for me as well!
Using the trusty Bind It All I have made a planner to get us all organised.
I haven't over embellished it as it has to survive in a manic environment for a year. Thanks to Outlook I have printed out a full year Diary section.

And the ever important weekly planner section. We have crazy reporting dates at work as our Financial Year starts Mid / End of Feb and we never get to grips with what week / Period we are in. So handy little section with each week detailed for us to keep up to date and know where we are when we go into meetings etc! And only 2 pages a week of things to do - yeah right!

And then a blank Notes section for all the other things like doodling and playing Hangman

I have printed all the sections off ready to bind and decorate for Sarah, so off I go to get the second one finished.

And then I may get round to Christmas Cards ........ I think I only need about another 20.

As I said earlier - Christmas is ages away yet ...........

Lots more to go though if I am to achieve cards for all my team at work. Hence why only very striaghtforward cards from me for now :)I am also trying to work through various challenges whilst I craft - although it is quite slow as I am cheating and making a few of each. Needs must!

The one above is for a challenge set by Lisa over at JB forum. The challenge is to use old papers and add some bling. Well Figgy Pudding are still gorgeous to work with but in the current market at over a year old they are almost prehistoric. Oh and the bling is stickles glitter glue.

The next is combining another JB Challenge to include a tree! I have based it on a sketch I found over at Papertake Weekly Challenge Blog. A lovely sketch - thanks girls!

Right I better crack on as LOADS more to make before the 25th. :)

I'm Back!

Crikey it is a long time since I blogged! Busy Busy Busy this end with work and work and erm work! Still loving it though :)

OK so I am off this weekend and it is time I got organised for Christmas as i have done NOTHING yet.

So today I am doing a few cards to get me in the mood for some altering later maybe.

First up is a card for a challenge over at the JB Forum. A nice simple challenge which suits me - to use a stamped image.

Next one is a challenge just set which is to make a Christmas card using traditional red and green. Hav to say I am loving the BG Wassail papers - not loving that Dad has gone away with the decent camera though :( Hey Ho my photography is so naff that I doubt there would be much improvement anyway .

Right off to make some more as I am having fun

Slow Progress!!

Crikey I am really struggling with the wooden bits I bought home from work I can tell you.

I am sure a five year old would do far better than I am doing!

Anyway, just in case anyone is reading and can't wait to see what I am achieving then here you go :)

Please don't judge me on this work (It is done to market to kids if that is any excuse - PMSL - I am about to get some new Bex stash out and make something in my own style!!

Oh and I am still staring vacantly at the fun foam - I really think you need to be under the age of 10 to "get it" :)

Lovely Weekend - and look what I have to make! :)

Well I have had a really lovely few days ........ bliss in fact.

I had a nice couple of days really deep cleaning and sorting out my room ready for organised crafting rather than crafting in chaos.

My Aunt and Uncle have taken quite a bit of stuff for their Grandchildren to use - fabby.

Yesterday I had a nice day out in France with friends - and OMG did I eat (and drink!).

7 courses later and I officially have a pot belly - GREAT!

Today I popped into work (Hobbycraft for anyone who doesn't know) and I need to start thinking about some new displays.

Lets say that the following stuff is all fabulous in its own right for kids etc but I am not sure I will enjoy working with it! I am such a crafting snob :)

SO firstly the wooden stuff ready to decorate - quite cute, but not sure I am a painter and will do it justice!

Then the make your own mache decorations ............

The dreaded Fun Foam :)And these are actually REALLY cute and I am loving them lots! Totally sweet FF stamps - lets see if I can turn these babies into cute Xmas cards!With the matching papers ...............And then of course it wouldn't be Christmas without a few ready made embellishments! :)

I will report ack with progress............. and any ideas anyone has for fab displays with any of the above do feel free to share - I have plans mapped out but you may be on a better wavelength than me!

Right off to get the acrylic paint out.

On Holiday - Take 2!

Well if anyone is wondering what happened to creative Bex last week - I got called back into work and holiday was postponed.
Good news though - I am now off until Wednesday next week - YAY!!!!
So instead of crafting I thought I would start with crafty shopping - it would be rude not to I am sure you will all agree :)
So yesterday I went to Scrapgenie as I needed to bulk buy some papers etc for the charity crop / class day I am doing soon.
It made me feel quite sad in a way going to the warehouse and seeing so much stock being sold at silly prices. The good thing is I got LOADS of Daisy D Papers to put into packs and sell at the craft day and the money will all go to charity, so a positive.
And of course I got a few bits and pieces for myself - some lovely collection packs cos a girl can never have too many!
Today I have been having a major sort out of my room. We have guests all weekend and there is no way my room is fit for them so having a nice time sorting and cleaning!
Nearly done and then I will be crafting - well crafting trying to keep it tidy still which will be a test for me!
Right I will stop rambling and get on with it.

Cute snowman stamp though (a whole 85p it was!) and I am loving the matching glittery papers - all imaginisce.

Well I never - Bex posting twice in one day! Tis usually once in two months recently!
Anyway, as I have been off work today I thought I would join in with the most fantastic sketch site - 2Sketches4U. Of course I didn't realise that after wanting to join in for weeks that the sketch would be so flippin hard! Trust me you need to visit this site and see the huge amount of talent that is just bursting at the seams.
So here is my little entry. I hope to join in with the extra sketch at some point as it really does look easier!
Then back to the JB Forum and we have been talking about the new Papermania Papers so I thought I would give them a road test. Yep I do like them! (Shame about my photography skills but it is very loudy and grey here!)
So thumbs up for the Xmas paper pack from Papermania from me (Did I really just say that?!)

On Holiday!

I am now off work for a week and home alone which is fabby - Hopefully I can get lots of jobs done and enjoy some me time crafting.

Didn't start off too well as I ended up in work all day Saturday tying off some loose ends.
Then yesterday I slept till 1.30! What a lazy Bex. I obviously needed it but I did set my alarm for nice and early this morning in case the trend continued :)

So what first then? I have SO many challenges on the forum I can play with and there are loads of other challenges on line so once the craft room is tidied I intend on really getting lots done.

I have completed a few and will share a couple now - more later when camera is charged up!

Both are challenges from the JB Forum

Nicky set a recipe challenge to use 1 Ribbon, 2 Circles and 3 buttons. So a simple effort from me to get me back into the swing of things!

Sue set a challenge to use circles and whilst my nestabilities were out I thought I would sort of cheat and do a very similar card for that challenge. (And my personal challenge of using up some of the 6x6 pads that have been untouched in ages! So BG Figgy Pudding was first out of the drawer!)I posted recently on the forum about the amount of stuff I have here and this week i really plan on having a good clear out and seeing how much stash I can actually use. Do not fear though, I have enough to craft full time for a year at least so I am not in danger of running out!

Crikey!

I cannot believe it has been SO long since I last blogged.
Time really does fly past so quickly at the moment.
So Summer has come and gone - or did it ever come?
I have been busy with work and still loving every minute of it.
Little Maisie has been having lots of fun with walks along the beach and eating far too many sausages at all the BBQs we have had.
Crafting has taken a back seat the last couple of months but I am determined to get back to it on a regular basis - I have missed it!

So next week I am off work, home alone and going to have a lovely week crafting with Maisie.
I will hopefully check back very soon, but having seen how long I have been missing I thought I should say Hi!

Been Playing ........

Well a little bit anyway!

It is so hard without my PC as I can't access any photos to print - and I had them all saved in a folder ready to play with as well. Oh well, it will be fixed and back soon.

So in the meantime I am faffing around doing what I can.

Nicky challenged us to cardlift the following card over at Just Bex Forum

And here is my rather simple effort! But I is simple :)

I did start out with 6 squares but not sure what happened really!

And a very simple Layout using the K&Co Range for work. I don't often use ready made embellishments and tbh I was bored using them so gave up and left it "Minimal".

I am now going to see what pictures I can find on Dads PC to print - and whether I can get his nasty inkjet printer to actually print them!

Father's Day

Well here in old Blighty it is Father's Day so I thought I should at least dust off some new papers that are actually old now as they have been unloved and abandoned for so many weeks.

So here is a card for Dad - not wonky as it looks - no camera and scanner doesn't like 3D!

As for me, I am planning on a couple of days of crafting ahead to make up for a very slack few months.

I have so many projects and challenges to do, along with loads of stuff I need to make to put up displays in store - so if all goes to plan there will be more creations ahead.

Oh, there will be a break though when Dad returns from his camping trip as it is such a glorius day here it would be rude not to take him for a beer down in Old Leigh as a Father's Day treat.

Harry ............

Introducing my latest "Star" for scrapping! This is the gorgeous Harry who is my best mates little boy - and I cannot wait to meet him when he flies in from Australia in October!
So until then you better get used to this little man as I am going to make an album all about him for his mummy to use at his 18th birthday :)

This really isn't my normal scrapping style and I really don't like it - but I had HUGELY limited stash as it is for work and only allowed to use certain things. Guess it is a good job that Harry is so flippin cute!

I have actually been doing quite a few challenges and stuff the last week or so - and OMG I have major PC issues - If this blog ever goes up it has taken me about a week to load the images up!
I am off to defrag the PC, and rerun full virus checks on this and other PC in the house as something is MEGA wrong somewhere!

Right so on to the next wee card.
This was a template challenge set over at Just Bex forum.
It has been so great - members have been setting challenges and they have all been fab! Must do that more often!
So a very simple card from me again as I have limited supplies I can use as it is for one fixture at work .............

And this one I think i can stretch to fit the "use 3 patterned papers" challenge!
Again simple cos I is simple!

And I have a few more to upload but I am losing the will to live with this darned PC so will be back in small doses to get them uploaded!

Apart from my PC issues all is well with Bex. Life is in fact pretty darned good - heightened even more last night watching the footie with the lads and gaining great satisfaction that Chelsea have no silverware this season :)

Only shame is that it went to Man U not liverpool, but I can live with that for now!

A Quick Catch Up!

Ooh ages again since I blogged - busy Bex!

So what have I been up to .........

Well I had a lovely 4 days in Prague - I really would recommend Prague to anyone.
It is such a beautiful city - the buildings are so impressive and it is really weird to see such different styles of architecture sitting right next door to each other - you really can see the 4 styles throughout the city.
Other highlithgts of Prague - the food. It was just fantastic - I pigged out big time. We didn;t have one bad meal, we ate heaps and it was all so cheap.
And of course the beer - if you hunt out the right bars it is mega cheap and there is nothing more I like than a bit of people watching with a pint :)

So then I got back from hols and back to work.
Good news folks - I am now Deputy Store Manager at work - OMG how on earth can Hobbycraft let me loose in one of their stores? I mean I though they were flying close to the wind when they gave me my previous job :) So little crafter Bex is over the moon and looking forward to taking the store to even better levels than we are at now. (See I can be a bit business like :))

And of course there is the forum that I have neglected terribly these last couple of months in my quest for Hobbycraft world domination :)
Luckily I have some fantastic forum members who are hosting their own big challenge week - I mean just how cool is that!
So OK I have worked all weekend so only completed one so far but OMG did you know you can make gift bags from an envelope?
Yes Mister - a genuine normal flippin envelope = I am well impressed - thanks to Sarah.
Oh and for the record it is 3D with little side flaps and everything - bad pic this end!

FAFFING!!!!!

Is all I have done today!
I got up late - 10.30 - lazy Bex :)

I have an interview to prep for and have a HUGE list of examples etc to go through but instead today I have .......

Done all my washing
Tidied my bedroom
Poop Scooped the garden (nice!)
Pottered around watching kids TV
Spent 2 hours cooking a nice dinner
Had a really long soak in the bath and nearly covered upstairs in bubbles cos I got a bit carried away with the jacuzzi feature!
Erm watched the Footie - Liverpool let me down so now NOT impressed .........

AND STILL the prep pack is sitting here staring at me!
So OK how on earth does silly crafter Bex come up with examples of commercial awareness & analytical thinking & Dealing with change etc ...... oh and absorb and remember a huge amount of financial figures ..............
Oh and on top of that I am still trying to work out what time i need to leave home to do the DREADED journey to Gatwick Airport for 11am! At the moment I am thinking around 7am although at this rate it may be earlier to allow me time for a coffee and time to answer these bloomin questions!!!

Crikey - I am such a disorganised little wotsit!
Anyway, I am avoiding the difficult questions that I have to answer in order to look like a fantastic manager so off I go in search of some long words to put down :)

Or shall I just sleep on it and get up earlier than stupid o clock?

Bex Reporting in!

Well hello to anyone who actually still comes back to read this neglected place!

Quick update for you all from the land of Bex.

Craft Update - I actually have made quite a lot the last week or so and in typical Bex style didn't bother to photograph it before giving it away! I had a few bits to make for my boss who was leaving on Friday and only finished them late Thursday night - you will just have to trust me that they were OK :)

Work Update - Not sure where to start! Still love work, still very busy - I have worked all weekend and am now starting to count down the days to my first holiday hours taken in 6 months! I have an interview on Wednesday for a job so keep fingers crossed - I won't say anything that will jinx anything cos I am weird like that! Hopefully some news will be shared soon!

HOLIDAY UPDATE - OK I am now a little bit excited! I am off to Prague with my Dad on the 30th and I am now getting that holiday vibe! It is only for 4 days but I am SO looking forward to it. I live at home at the moment so of course see my Dad loads - but 4 days away together will be just lovely. And of course I have researched Prague and seen the beautiful scenery .......... and the fact they have low priced lager ......... and beads ........... it will be fun!
I just hope that my step mum doesn't have 4 nights of my dog barking as I have never left her overnight before! I have a vision of the cats being kicked out and Maisie finally being top dog on/in their bed just so Sheila gets a good nights kip!

Right OK that is a brief update from me :)
Honest - to be a better blogger is on my list - it is just not anywhere near the top of stuff I have going on right now!

Has it really been a month!

Oh My Goodness - I cannot believe it has been a month since I blogged.
All those good intentions to blog straight out of the window then!

Anyway, just a quick check in to say I am still alive - just :)
Work has been really busy but good fun as always. I have actually done so much crafting for stuff for the store displays - but it is always dark when I finish and I take them into work the next day so no pics - silly Bex.
Of course I don't expect anyone to believe me - although you could pop into work and see I am telling the truth!

Right so not a lot else new in bex world I don't think.
I have a long list of cards and things to make and as I am sitting here in Brand new PJ's and dressing gown I may just stay in them all day and chill out.
In fact that sounds like a very good idea.

HSMS - Confused!

OK so I thought I would put the brand new camera to use and actually start to try to improve from bad to poor!!
So I checked in on the HSMS site to see what the latest prompt is.
Today it is "Confused"!
Well, OK Jaws above is actually quite confused at the moment.
All his mates are chilling out in the cold weather and mostly at the bottom of the pond.
Jaws however is very much alive and wanting to feed and suck fingers ....... yeah I know it is gross but he is quite cute and I do tickle his nose every morning whilst having a fag!
So here is Jaws yet again confused as to why I am not hand feeding him loads of food.
Don't worry Jaws - it will soon be feeding time again x

OMG another blog from Bex!

I am getting good at this blogging lark ........ in fact I think I might become a regular :)

So what have I been up to? Well today was work as usual - lets leave the work talk at that.
Now to PLAY time.
Got home to a nice King Prawn Stir Fry - YUM - Happy Bex.
So tonight I have been playing with one of the challenges over at Just Bex Forum (Great forum - we share the same name :))

So can we make a present for someone?
SURE I CAN. I love making presents.
So I chose someone VERY SPECIAL and thought I would make them a Photo Cube from the white box ^^^^^^ up there.

One more side still to do and apologies for the pics but tis dark here now.
Oh and on the last one I think the middle of the blue flower has fallen off - PMSL - I SO should leave things to dry before mauling them and taking pics. Anyway there was a rather nice MakingMemories "Adore" thingy in there - I will repair it before I wrap it up and give it to ......

More Challenges!

Ooh I am having SUCH a nice lazy Sunday!
I have been playing with the challenges over at the Just Bex Forum
We have a big challenge weekend running and I still have about a billion to complete but I am working my way through them!
This one is to take inspiration from the following picture and incorporate it into a card or LO. I have gone for a card as (a) I have LOADS to make for the shops I supply and (b) LO's just take me ages and I am on a mission! So here is my take on it - and I have made 6 for the shop.

The next challenge I have tackled is this weeks DCM dare.

I may have slightly cheated but I am sure they will let me off!

The dare is actually to make a card for someone you love featuring love or friendship. Well I am not sure that I love anyone enough to make them a card :)

So I have opted for Friendship as I am in desperate need of some boys cards!

So yep I am a cheat - am I bovvered though? Nah!!!!!
Right must crack on - loads to do, not much time and all that xx

BAD IDEA - She is a naughty minx and clearly doesn't like the camera!

Sunny Saturday!

Wow it is such a nice day here - blue sky, sun out and nice and crispy cold!

I LOVE days like this - I have taken the dog to the park and had a good play with all the mucky stinky little (and big) dogs that we met.

I have started far too many craft projects - so now my room is a total pigsty with half finished cards, canvases and LO's all over the place ........... ah well there is always the Guest Bedroom to sleep in!

So what have I achieved ....... well not much really. I have stopped starting new challenges and tonight will focus on finishing the ones I have started!

I have made about 20 Mothers Day cards for the shops I supply - though quite why I did them without fitting them to challenges I don't know!

Anyhow here is one that fits one of the challenges over at the Just Bex Forum.

Set by the fabby Sue the challenge is to incorporate a ribbon, 2 blooms and 3 patterned papers into a card.

Is Bex Back?

Hmm I might be - I have decided i am going to TRY to take this blogging lark seriously ........ so please do check back for the next week or so and see if I manage to keep this darned thing updated!

So in Bex world what has happened?
Well I have mostly been on a First Aid course all week.
Lots of bandages, lots of fake nasty role plays where you feel like a total plank. (I HATE role plays)
Lots of information to absorb ........
Lots of lying on the floor being pulled into the recovery position as I was the tiniest!
Lots of food - I knew it would be dull so did a HUGE junk food shop and went on a mission to eat my way through the week. I have put on 4 pounds in a week - FAB.
And then today I had the nasty assessment day. Normally I am fine with stuff like this, exams and such like ........... but when it comes to first aid it brings back memories of college.
I had to do a 26 week First Aid intensive course and it was HORRID.
On exam day out of 20 of us only 8 passed (Luckily I did) and the rest had to redo the entire 26 week course again.
So yep - me and First Aid courses have a history that instills fear in me.

So this week i have been confident, fine in fact.......... I already knew the info - hell 26 weeks of it is enough not to forget the basics to see me through a 4 day course.
But OMG did I shake going into the exam!
Nasty nasty stuff and luckily I passed and can return to work as a qualified first aider (DO NOT injure yourself in my store as my skills are pretty shite, my "bedside" manner is worse!)

So now I am relaxing and getting ready for a weekend of challenges over at Just Bex Forum.
Tis fab - there are loads of challenges and I have done no work towards it so can play with them all like the rest of the gang :)

Right will head off now and finish my well deserved glass of wine x

Well I have spent most of the weekend pushing paper around and getting nowhere slowly!
So I thought I would give up on the Layouts for a while and make some simple cards for the shop
I came across the Papertake Challenge Blog and thought I would play!
A nice challenge to use red on a card - so I have made a batch of the above - and just in time as they have a new challenge up tomorrow.

Right - Back to the clipboard that I am trying to do for someone at work.

Template Challenge

Crikey - I have actually completed a challenge for the Just Bex Forum!
Sue set one of her fabulous template challenges so I thought I would use it to make up a set of Valentines cards for the shops - only about another 94 to do .........
AND If I hadb't been such a lazy cow today I may have achieved a bit more.
I didn't wake up till 10.30 which is not like me .......... and then by 2 o clock I was back in bed till 6! What a lazy moo, but I guess I needed to catch up on some sleep. Just hope I sleep tonight now as I am wide awake now!

I am a serious crafter ............

Not!!!! I have a long list of LO's and cards I wamt to make.
I have a long list of fab challenges from various blogs and forums.
And instead I am about to tackle 8 of these disgusting eggs.
I HATE Styrofoam, I hate eggs, I hate cheap and tacky embellishments
But yes, this is my latest project for work to turn these 8 nasty eggs into something stunning to encourage people to buy them - I think we only have about 850 of them to sell!

I will report back later this afternoon with some very tacky eggs!

Firstly I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas and New Year.
Thankyou for all you kind comments - I had a lovely Xmas at my sisters with the family.
Too much food, too much drink & loads of fun - it all went too quickly though!
New Year I worked through but am enjoying it still so that was fine by me - I have never been one to do much New Year.

So now we are in 2008 and I have a long list of things I want to achieve this year and I will let you know as and when I achieve them!
One of them is to actually be a better blogger and participate more in the forum.
I thought I would ease myself in gently with a new challenge called "Shape Shifters"!
I'll see how it goes on the forum and see if it is something we can do regularly to helps us all make the cards we need.
So basically a simple guide of what shapes have to appear on your card, and how many times ........... you can add any embellishments etc you like on top of the shapes.
So the shapes ..........

And my very simple effort - I am feeling simple x

Another Photo and an update ramble!

Well here is another photo from the HUGE box I found the other day. This is my Grandma and I have to say that I think the photo is just beautiful! If anyone would like a copy to use in vintage cards etc then please email me and I will send you a high res version.

OK so time I think for an update on the life of Bex!
Life is pretty good to be honest. I am absolutely LOVING my new job - I am at the point where a day off seems boring as I have so much to do and want to be working!
Not sure if I mentioned it before but the new job is as a Sales Floor Manager for Hobbycraft in their Basildon store - so if you are passing pop in and say Hi!
I have a lovely team of staff who make me laugh all day - and the customers are pretty fantastic as well. I regularly spend over an hour with a customer chatting about paper and ribbons and teachniques etc and it is SO up my street. Did I mention I am loving it??

So not sure what else I have to update you all with really! There has been a serious lack of crafting this end due to working long hours and just getting used to a new job etc.
I have now sorted out a load of my craft stuff and my room is looking fairly tidy so the challenge now is to start playing more in my hours off! We will see how I do - but I better achieve it as I have SO MANY Chrimbo pressies to make.

Right time to get into PJ's and enjoy the nice glass of wine my Dad poured for me over an hour ago!

OUCH!!

Hi Guys

Sorry for the lack of blogging this week
New job is going just great - I am going to so love it and already have a list longer than a toilet roll of things that need to be actioned.

BUT the ouch is for my poor little size 4 feet.
I cannot tell you how much they hurt! I know all will be fine in a few weeks as the large part of my career I have been in an ops environment on my feet ................ BUT I have just spent a year sitting on my not so large fat arse in front of a computer screen so right now it hurts!!!
In store they reckon the floor manager walks near on 10 miles a day - I am not sure this is accurate but I think my feet would say 20!!
So in one way roll on tomorrow evening when I have a weekend off - and on the other hand not wanting to leave the shop for 2 days!!!
I am SO in to this new job and already know that I am going to love it.
I am also going to nick the counter gadget that my Step Mum Sheila has for next week as I will be intrigued just how many miles a day I am walking!

SO all in all a very dull post for you to read - I LOVE my new job and am sure I am going to love it for some time, I am looking forward to 3 weeks time when my feet don't throb uncontrollably at 4pm ................ And I am looking forward to the whole body adjust thing so I can come home feeling a bit less washed out.
Dad has been away this last week and I am now off to do the guilty teenage thing of tidying the house to a state way better than it was when they went away .............. even though all I want to do is crawl into bed!

All I can say is that Dad better have a nice glass of red awaiting me at 7pm tomorrow - and my sister will hopefully have prepped my nephew who is coming to stay that Bex is NOT to be woken before 10am on Saturday. This is a naff wish though as I know he is up at 7 and his Mum and Dad are off to France on a booze Cruise at 6am so he will wake up ............ All I can say at this point is that I wil try not to swear when he comes in to my room and jumps on me :)

So Saturday is childcare zone with no doubt a trip to the beach etc, Sat night hopefully I will be rewarded with a French platter of pate, bread and wine ............ and then Sunday I really want to play!!!!

OK am rambling now and should be cleaning so will dash x

Are you Ready for the Big Challenge?

We have a manic wekend of challenges over at the Just Bex Forum.
Challenges are being launched throughout the next 3 days and there are lots of goody bags and points up for grabs ....... feel free to come along and play :)

I have a busy day today with a second interview for a job I actually REALLY want so keep fingers crossed please x
Mind you when I get home I will be having 3 days of crafting bliss with the house to myself - FAB.

More Playing!

Having a nice relaxing weekend of playing with cards and the spinner is getting full ........... slowly!!

So I thought I would use some of the challenges on the Just Bex Forum to get me motivated.

First is a challenge set by Sue to make 2 cards - one using OLD paper and one using brand shiny new stuff.

Well it will surprise no-one that I have quite a lot to choose from!

I made the first card with Avenue papers which are totally lush and I am now on my third collection pack - so I sort of class them as old but lush!

I figured Sue would accuse me of cheating so I went through my "Old must use up" box and found some pink creative impressions papers that I have had for over a year.

In total I made 3 of each of these so that is another pocket on the spinner filled!

And then for the NEW papers (Bo Bunny Shabby Princess) I loved cutting these up they are such gorgeous colours. All rich and earthy and yummy - and now nearly gone as I made 8 cards with them.

And then on to a challenge set by Leigh - to use Paisley.

There have been some gorgeous cards created for this and mine is fairly simple - but I did cut up the 2 sheets of paper and make 6 cards - all using different stamps and no sentiment but with different embellishments etc - so yes - another pocket full!

Right - I am off to find the next challenge to complete and will report back!

Weekend to play!

Ooh I do love a template! Sue set a template challenge on the Just Bex Forum and I have to say I found it a tricky one!
As you can see I have managed it in the end and for once it does still resemble the original template (I think :))
I have been a busy Bex this week and can't believe the weekend is here again already.
One of the florists I supply have decided this week that instead of the little basket of cards they currently have on the counter they would instead like a full floor spinner .................
OK so I have managed to get a really good deal on a lovely spinner for the bargain price of £40 which is good. This lovely spinner though has 36 pockets - and each pocket will hold up to 8 cards.......... which by my maths means I need to make about 288 cards.
So i thought I would be good and do a few more of the same and fill one pocket!

I much prefer to sit and play and do different cards but I think for a spinner they sort of need to be similar in each pocket - so now I am going to look at a pocket a time and perhaps use the same stamps and embellishments but different papers.
I'll report back with progress updates over the weekend as I really would like to deliver the spinner on Monday - although not sure how realistic this is!
Of to make a cuppa and tidy up then get crafting - I might even manage to actually do a few of the challenges on the forum for once!

Friday Night Challenge!

So over at the Just Bex Forum we are launching Christmas related Friday Night Challenges to get everyone ultra organised!
It seems to be working so far and lots of fantastic cards have been produced - in fact seeing them all has made me dig out my Xmas stuff and make a few this afternoon.
So the latest challenge is to create 5 Cards for Christmas featuring ............................... Buttons!
We like to keep them nice and easy as it is all about HELPING people get organised.

A VERY Special Place xx

On Sunday I went to meet my sister at Wiccaweys

This place and what they do is just amazing.

As some of you will know I adore dogs, and others will know that the mere sight of a dog in the street sends Bex into doggie language of "Oh Hi!".

I think it is only since I became a dog owner a couple of years back that I can honestly say I don't care about the bad breath, the stinky fur, the muddy paws - they are all just little angels and can make me as grubby as they like! Oh, and btw they all smell of roses really :)

So when my sister started to fundraise for animal shelters, and when I read my fabby friend Carols blog ........ well we found Wiccaweys - and I am SO glad we did.

Wiccaweys is run by Sarah and Paul - and crikey these guys have seriously dedicated their lives to rescuing and caring for Border Collies. (Oh and a few intruders in disguise!)

Along with a fantastic team of volunteers they work non stop to care for the dogs, to take in as many as they can from all over the UK & Ireland, and of course to rehome them.

Since Sunday I am trying to think what on earth I can do to help. I wish I had stacks of money but I don't :(

So instead I am going to book some craft fairs for the festive period and donate a percentage to Wiccaweys. I am also going to provide a box of cards for their little shop on site.

And most importantly once I have sorted out my work schedule I am going to make sure I am around every so often to help walk the dogs and do whatever is needed at a practical level.
I am also trying hard to think of an event to run on my forum in the new year to make a few pennies x

So for all my ramblings I would like to introduce you to 2 VERY special boys who me and Rach instantly fell in love with.

First off is Jim. Jim is an old boy, and is blind. He arrived at Wiccaweys in a poor old state and had to be shaved. This boy has the BIGGEST paws and is SUCH a gentle giant. I adored him and after realising that he wasn't in fact trying to push me over when walking him, but instead nestling into my legs for reassurance of where he was going - well I loved him even more.

Mind you, he can jump up and land on you with about 99% accuracy for cuddles :)

And second was Allun, another gorgeous blind boy who was just so sweet and needs lots of talking and cuddles x I think Rachel and him bonded pretty well :)

So the point of all my rambling?

Bex is Back! With Maisie in our new home!

And for the first time ever I got a pic of Maisie not looking suicidal - love that she is sticking her huge stinky tongue out!

Moving was a nightmare as moving always is - but I am quite impressed to say that although I have been out all of today the majority of stuff is now unpacked or in the loft.

I reckon tomorrow should see the end of it then I can relax and start crafting again YEY!!!!!

I'm still not online on my own PC as Dad really is a technophobe and I am going to have to completely redo his hash of an attempt at an internet connection in order to get me online - but I am sure I can crack it over the weekend (When Dad is not here to interfere!)

So Bex is a happy bunny and I already feel quite at home so I am sure in a week or two everything will be just Grand.

I say a week or two as we have a Cat / Dog Issue to deal with .......... I need to toughen Maisie up and get her to stand her ground rather than cower and hide!!!!

Lisa Challenged us all over at the forum to create a LO featuring the word Family.
I have LOADS of old photos of both my parents that I am keen to put into acrchival safe LO's.
I LOVE the above photo of my Dad at 9 months with my Grandad. My sister Rachel and my Dad are very similar in character - and I love that Dad and Rach were both grumpy babies!
It really does capture the "gentle" man my Grandad was - In fact I tried to add journalling and got really upset! So a fairly simple LO from me with it.

I have so many more pages to do and have decided that Dads album will be in 6 x 12 format because well, I like it!

Hope everyone has had a good weekend - back to work for me tomorrow and I will be counting the days as I finish on August 31st ...............

Sunny Friday!

Wow the weather here really is GLORIOUS.
I definately picked the right week of the year so far to be off work.
I hope it continues through the weekend - then by Monday I will be back in the office - BOO.
Anyway, this week I have stamped up LOADS of images ready for making cards.
As some people will know my mate Sue has HUNDREDS of stamps and I am constantly borrowing them to play with.
Well - I am moving on September 1st back to my home town of Leigh on Sea so I have been stockpiling a HUGE stash of stamped images. I have also been sorting out stuff ready to move as I will be working full time up to the day I leave.
I have also started changing all the contact details labels on my stock cards - naff job and is taking AGES!
Busy Busy life this end - I am looking forward to a bit of R&R at the end of the month!

Right back to the craft chat
The stamp in the card above Sue claimed not to really like - so I borrowed it and made about 10 cards with it. Sue now likes it and wants it back - suppose I will let her lol. I think it is a great stamp - sadly I am not clever enough to do any jazzy techniques with it and have used it in the simplest form.
So I have used this as a sample for a very simple challenge over at the forum.
Folks deserve a little easy one every now and again!

Week off progress update!

Hello All!

Well I have been having a mighty fine week off work.

It is such a shame I have to go back on Monday .........

I have actually achieved quite a lot. But not much to show for it!

Did a major spring clean on the house which was overdue ...

Had a lovely afternoon with Sue chatting and eating cream cakes - yummy.

Had a lovely morning with Kathy today chatting, stroking papers and drinking coffee.

I actually love that I have friends who have lots of craft stash - makes me feel normal for having so much!

Right so on to the crafting side of things.

I have mainly been making cards!

I have been trying to use up paper etc so have been making in batches of 6 for stock.

Here are a couple - I will blog more tomorrow when I have sorted out pics etc

The first is for a challenge on the forum to use gems on a card ........ nice and easy!

So I made a batch of boys skater cards - all similar but different lol

The next not so easy .......... Kathy sent me home this afternoon with clear instructions to do the DCM little extra.

OK so normally these are nice little challenges - I often read and think ooh nice - I could do this etc if I had more time ............

This one though! OMG A card with 3 arrows, 3 circles and a square.

Reckon this is quite tough myself!

So here is my attempt and I haven't cheated for once

And for the record - the 3rd circle is a circle gem on the flower on the dress.

Sunday - Not so Crafty!

Hmmm Today I have not really made much! Apart from a mess ............
I have been having a good old sort out of all my craft stuff (and cleaning - heaven knows why!)
I found this little doggie die that I have NEVER used so challenged myself to use it.
AGES later and this is all I could come up with.
I did have a lot of "Essex" sayings making me laugh like "You look Ruff" but I wasn't sure they would sell!
So here is doggy and he has been put in the folder again probably never to be used as he is far too fiddly!
And I did try to make it to the Template Challenge Sue set over at Just Bex Forum.
Well it is no where near it but I will enter it anyway cos I am the Boss and Sue ALWAYS cheats
I am giving up on crafting for today and am instead going to retire to the lounge with a big box of cards that need packaging - BORING JOB - got to be done though,

First I want to say really good news about Suesjoy!

Her brain tumour was removed successfully and she is recovering well. She still has lots of recovery to go through so I am keeping up my positive thoughts for her and her husband Sujoy and little Anjoli. I am not a particularly religious person but i really do believe in the power of positivity and wishing people well. I am sure it helps even if at the most simplest level that people know they have friends thinking of them and willing them to get through things.

So, what is happening in the world of Bex?
Well it sure has been busy this end. Work has been totally frantic and I am really excited to have the next week off! YEY this means I am on day 1 of 9. 9 Blissfull days at home.
So of course along with the many jobs I have got to do this week I am crafting!

I have SO many challenges to catch up with over at the Just Bex Forum.
I am gradually working through them though!

Here is the first set my the totally gorgeous Lisa - It is to do a LO that makes you laugh.
OK so this won't make you laugh perhaps - but it has an element of humour and I hope Lisa agrees and gives me the point!
My sister has high visions of actually being an angel. She has recently claimed to be growing wings I believe ........... well this LO is entitled BAD ANGEL

The second I have completed was set by Esther - to make a card using "Tantalising Tangerine" which otherwise translates to orange!
I love Esthers colour challenges as they really do focus you to use things you may not normally put together. Here is my effort!

So now I am about to do some of the boring jobs that need doing and will craft again this evening

Challenge 12 - To use shaped scissors.
Well i found some - and have now realised why they were not even in my craft room but had instead been relegated to the box in the spare room!
Me and shaped scissors do not agree - and I am not sure we ever will - but here is my effort!

Challenge 10 - To use Charms!
Well I have quite a lot of charms here - and I have to say I am not sure the last time I used one.
However - After seeing all the fab ways of using them on the forum I may just revisit them and start using them up! Not sure i would buy more though.
So here is my effort using a wee baby charm!

Challenge 17 - Chocochino Colour Challenge
A fab challenge from Est to make a card using chocochino colours! (As in the drink sold in Thorntons apparently :))
So here is a erm Brown card!

Right I also have 3 LOs on the go that I am determined to finish so off I go.

OK so on to Challenge 15 over at the forum
This one was set by the fab Esther and involved using a card using pink and green, Oh sorry, Succulent Strawberry and cool Kiwi!
I have borrowed this stamp off my best buddy Sue - and today I have stamped about 20 of her for future use as she is quite sweet!

I have also completed a LO challenge but light is fading so will add it tomorrow when I can photo it in daylight x

And to anyone reading who believes in the power of positive thought - please say a prayer / send positive vibes to the gorgeous Sue (SuesJoy) as she is in hospital at the moment and facing surgery on Tuesday. I have EVERY faith that she will be just fine - but positive thoughts really can't do any harm eh?

Lisa set a really hard challenge to produce a LO for under a quid.
Now I will admit to being a total paper snob. So I was not prepared to rummage around for scraps etc and tried to do something with some of the fab stash I have here.
One excel spreadsheet later and a LOT of cursing I have achieved the above LO which cost 99p.
YES REALLY

OK SO I am lucky that I bought this Crate Paper at Trade price :) Which did help ...........
But hey - I am a paper snob - did I mention that?

Still Playing catch up - as I always am!

So a few cards made - the first one was for a challenge set by Samm to include a mode of Transport on a card or Layout. SIMPLE I know - but I am not spending hours making stuff for a 4 year old (and a 3 year old - did 2!) Cos they really do not give a toss about cards - they want presents. Crikes in this day and age probably a PS3 or IPOD !!!!!! So there xxxx

This one is for a challenge set by Esther. To make a card using blooms .............

Easy - I have hundreds of the bloomin things!!! Not sure about this one - but it is made and my 200 target is now down to 180 ...............

Well it is actually lower but until I provide proof it is 180 ........ so watch out for the next installment!

On a Mission Day 2!

OK so today I have made another 10 cards for stock using up stuff!!

The choice this morning was the Basic Grey Stella Ruby Pad and I am pleased to say I have made a dent in it!

5 Cards made using the paper - then I got bored with it (Mind you I was using the same stamped image which I Stamped yonks ago using Sues fabby stamp!)

Ah and of course it fits in nicely with the fashion challenge over at the forum!

I then decided I had rather spoilt myself and should in fact use some papers that I have never used and had for a Looooong time!

So I made 5 more - but will save them to show during the week just in case I achieve nothing else!

On a Mission!

Oh yes I am. I have decided that as from now I am on a spending ban until I have made 200 cards for stock. (Which I hate to say would make a dent in my paper stash - but not one that I would mega notice!)

This might sound drastic - BUT I have so much stuff here - so apart from essentials like glue and double sided tape - that is it until 200 cards made! I do intend to do this by the next pay day obviously :)

So today I have managed to finally return the broken sewing machine and exchange it for a shiny working one - YEY!
So the first tray of papers selected to actually "use" are the fantastic Junkitz Love Lines. Honestly these papers are FAB. The above cards are all fairly simliar, and VERY simple in design, tbh these papers sort of lend themselves to the same sort of card. But I have made 12 today so that is only 188 to go! Still have loads of the paper too .........
And these cards count as one of the challenges over on the Forum. To use those rose buds that you all have lurking somewhere ......... I haven't used artificial flowers in AGES but thanks to Sues challenge not only have I used a handful out of the drawer FULL ........ But I kind of like them again!

So OK on to the next paper tray - or shall I pick a 6 x 6 pad?

A Tag from Est (Via Kirsty Initially)

OK I hate Tags as you know - but this is a good one sort of and interesting - so please play!
I will upload the MASSES of crafty stuff soon = have a new camera and still playing to get decent pics etc
BUT also I have some FAB bloggers who are not crafters - so this is for you xxxxxx

My roommate and I once: Erm OMG what did me Kate & Karen not get up to!!! (OK no dirty stuff Del) Mainly we went out on the Piss then got home and played the boardgame Risk. Sad but Oh So Cool!

Never in my life have I: Neglected those around me. Whatever I have going on I think i am always available for anyone who needs me.

High school was : Erm an experience that felt like a big paper bag of rebellion that I punched through. But I punched gradually as my Mum was Head Teacher :)

When I'm nervous : My palms sweat - but tis OK I run them through my hair and all is dry and well lol (then go home and wash hair!)

My hair : Is blonde and mega curly - I should spend more time straightening it and looking good - but life is far to short to be arsed - so I slick it back in a ponytail 90% of the time x

When I was 5 : I really upset my Grandma. We were at Pontins and I totally destroyed my Sisters bed "arrangement" - threw her teddies everywhere. Then denied it = but had been seen in the act. Can't remember why I did it but my Grandma remembered it for years ...............

When I turn my head left : At work I see a very gorgeous guy called Sam who makes me laugh. He is 23 without a care in the world and he is so funny. Ar home I see the kitchen that needs cleaning always ...............

I should be : less of a bitch - But my bitching is always fun and tbh well justified!!!!!

By this time next year : Far too big a question - so will settle for as happy as I am now x

My favorite aunt is : No Aunts this end. BUT as I have no Mum now either(well I do in heaven etc) I will say that "adopted" Aunty Pat rules this place xxxxx I Adore her x

I have a hard time understanding : Why people feel the need to moan constantly on line - OK the web is an outlet - and I get that - But on the whole I am positive and HATE reading blogs etc that are all "Moany!" If something really bad happens I talk to real friends about it. I try to keep it out of my on line life x

You know I like you if : Simple - I CHOOSE to talk to you. Either in real life, blog life, forum life etc.

My ideal breakfast is : Smoked Salmon and scrambled eggs on wholemeal toast - in the sunshine if I can!!

If you visit my home town : And I happen to be around - you WILL meet my Dad as I adore him and he is there x

If you spend the night at my house : You will be in PJ's by 7pm. And you better like dogs x

My favorite blonde is : My Eldest sister - she is the sweetest person to walk this planet. Not one bad bone in her body.

My favorite brunette is : My Middle Sister - who is like me so we can bitch and laugh and drink coffee and smoke far too many fags

The animal I would like to see flying besides birds : Who cares - as long as they don't hit my windscreen like an unfortunate pigeon chose to. Fly High I say

I shouldn't have been : Born blonde - and an Essex Girl - it is unfair!

Last night I: Chilled in PJ's with the pooch. Watched TV, Surfed - ate too much - as you do x

A better name for me would be : Happy with my name - Just Bex - i am what I am

I've been told I look like I - Erm recently my sister - years and years ago - Phoebe from Neighbours

If I could have any car, it would be : Not bothered. A Car gets you where you need to go. At what speed you allow for x

I have done this LO for the latest challenge running on the Just Bex Forum

The Challenge is quite an easy one really - to make ANYTHING as long as it includes products sold by the Fabulous Scrapbooking Castle who Sponsor us.

AND the bonus is that they are looking for work to display on their website - Fab!

So I have used the great papers from Urban Lily "Urban Boy" Collection.

Honest these papers are LUSH and sort of make the page without too much effort!

Oh Hi!!!

Hello Bloggers! Sorry I have been so slack at blogging lately x

OK so first up the above is a card I have made for Sue's Template Challenge on the Just Bex Forum. Nice and simple - I love templates for when you need to make cards and are feeling a bit "lost". I actually made 5 last night using this stamp and trying to make a dent in the huge stack of offcuts of paper I have! Won't bore you by uploading them all though :)

So Ok what has Bex been up to? Well life is pretty busy as usual. Work is good, I am enjoying what I am doing and it is so local with a great group of people - so as I have to work I really can't complain!

The forum is going from strength to strength and taking up a lot of my time.

I have spent a lot of time setting things up and now have a FAB team of girls on board helping to create inspiring challenges. And I am loving being able to play - well OK I haven't played much but will do!

As for this week - busy week at work as always.

I am also heading over to Wembley on Tuesday with Sue and her Hubby and one of her boys.

Looking forward to it muchly as I haven't seen Rach in quite a while.

Other than that not a great deal to report! And I need to go and CREATE as I have a HUGE list of Challenges to catch up with!

I kind of vanished - only because life is so busy - I am fine, thankyou to those who were concerned x
Life is still manic what with work, the forum etc. But all good.
WELL it was till I had the ill fated appointment with my Dentist last night to extract a problematic Wisdom tooth ............

I should SO have known it would be bad - hell you couldn't even see or feel the tooth - and really should have taken one of the options of offer ....... valium, sedation - you name it. BUT NO Bex does the it will be OK thing. Just give me a local............
Well it is OK now so do not panic - BUT the last 24 hours have been pretty bad!
I won't get graphic but lets say it took an hour and was not pleasant. And I was up till 3 this morning dealing with the aftermath ........ But a day in the office moaning helps :) Yes this little soldier went to work with a swollen bruised face - ooh I am a workaholic afterall!

Then I just read something on line that upset me - but hey life is too short and it is confirmation of something i already knew - so no biggie - just closure over something that was upsetting me.
BUT life really is too short and I am very lucky with my life so will wake up tomorrow and smile all day xxxxxx
I am off to bed now as really tired and still very sore. But I have a free weekend this weekend and i really will add a full blog update to my list - which is very long :)

Another Challenge

Crikey the forum is really BUZZING with people playing along with the challenges - and I am seriously chuffed at the constant FANTASTIC work being displayed, They are a seriously talented bunch of artists!

So following on from that gush here is a card I have made for Sue's latest template challenge.

I am playing SERIOUS catch up - there are so many challenges I still need to do - and I actually want to do all of them! Hmmmmm I'll plod on and see how I go!

Forum Binder Project

Over at the JUST BEX Forum there is a monthly project.

This month is to create a Craft Organiser.

I have completed this weeks part which is the actual binder - next week we will be starting to fill it with our first section.

Sorry for the brief blog but I am already an hour late to an engagement party!

Will do a proper catch up tomorrow - but life in Bex world is good xxxxx

Back to Work .......

Always a low point of my week - although I have to say I have SO much work on at the moment that at least the day flies by - so I am not moaning (much)

So today - well busy day at work and complaining to my letting agency about the "leak /Torrential downpour" that is my bedroom.
I just LOVE my letting agency - when my fridge broke it took 7 weeks - so the expectations on fixing a potential ceiling collapse leak situation where pretty low.

Afte having them on repeat dial from 9am they finally answered the phone at 10.
Came back to me at 2pm to say that "the company" they use (LIKE how many flippin builders are out there - is it just one?) were very busy today and couldn't come out till tomorrow .........
I calmly replied - Not a problem - I have my landlords mobile number and will let him know as potentially if it rains tonight he has a major problem on his hands .............
Funny - they came back within 10 minutes to say someone will be out later today.

SO at 3.30 I get a call at work to say they will be here in 40 minutes - so I leave work early and hack it home.
AND Bob the builder and his buddy (who I think was actually 12 years old) turn up.
They would love a cuppa - well yes fix the roof.
Oh dear they don't have a ladder - didn't realise one was needed.

OK - So at this point I am very tempted to ask if they thought I lived in a 4 foot tall house - what with it being a ROOF that needs fixing. BUT instead I smile sweetly and suggest they find a ladder and when they do I will reward them with a cuppa.
So off they trot - reappear with a ladder and fix it. PHEW.
And poor sods - it peed it down while they were up there - BUT if they had had a ladder when they first arrived they would have been home before the rain started! All heart me eh?

SO then I surf the web and find my sis has an In The Attic Show on - and of course it would be rude not to slob in front of the PC and watch it. AND BOY do they go on and on and on - 2 hours! 2 Hours when I should be crafting!
Have to say it was great to see the gang together again and I have very fond memories of pre full time work days ........... chilling out with the gang, making tea .......... bliss.
So they are off to Europe now - and I would love to be able to tag along as glorified tea maker / companion - but sadly work calls. (MUST remember to book tea lady slot for Glastonbury though!!)

SO if you have got this far - I bet you are wishing I had crafted eh? Posts are much shorter and less rambling - BUT I like to ramble once in a while!!!!
So off to find pics and paper to do a LO tomorrow night ............... Back to crafting Bex

Has flown by this weekend!

Didn't get as much crafting done as I would have liked today due to a bedroom ceiling leak ......... was on bucket and towel duty all day!!!

Ah well - I did ignore the leak for an hour or so tonight to alter a timepiece - one of the challenges.

So here it is - all ready for a budy at work who is having a hard time and needs a gift I think xx

Will continue with the challenges this week - promise x But sadly back to the day job tomorrow

I am loving this weekend - Pure crafting heaven xxxx

So here is my take on the OH BABY challenge. Which is simply to scrap a baby pic!

This little darling is my nephew and I have tried to do a different style from my normal.

Papers are BG Urban Couture I think!

The base with the big flowers is one sheet which has been cut and made to be 3D etc which the pic doesn;t show very well .........

But I think as the subject is just too cute for words that I am happy with it!

Right on to the next challenge ....... I still have 5 more to do!

Something for the weekend??

I have launched 10 crafty challenges over on the JUST BEX FORUM and so if you want to pop along and play please do!

I had hoped on being mega organised and having lots of samples to show - but as it works out I am happy now that I am a disorganised mess - BECAUSE I can Join in properly and play!

So 3 days of glorious crafting here I come x

So Far I have completed 2 of the challenges.

The first is to make something to brighten up the fridge!

SO here is my take on it - It is a small magnetic tin containing an accordian featuring my sisters "kids"

And I have also completed a card for the "All Four One" Challenge
