A New LO

Another good day today - This Bank Holiday has been fab!
I spent a lovely morning in PJ's sorting through a load more photos - and i have SO many Layouts to do my head is spinning with excitment. Such a shame i have to go back to work tomorrow.

I decided to do a fun page for my Nephews album.
A while back Em and Carol challenged us to do a Holiday LO so this is one on my list of "catch ups" that is now complete.
Paper is Cosmo Cricket, and copious amounts of glossy accents have been used which don't show up in the pic.
I haven't included any journalling yet as I plan to get my nephew to write some bits so I have made some tags that will slide in behind the photos so that he can add his own thoughts!

And for those of you who i promised to try to find a "young Rach smiling" pic. Well this one is pretty sweet eh? The photo is actually in good condition but my scanner is not out at the mo so this is a naff photo of it if that makes sense!
I do love that Mum dressed us the same at this age - and she also made quite a lot of our clothes. The only thing I remember being a pain was that as the youngest I seemed to wear the same outfit for about 4 years as they were passed down to me!
Ah well - I didn't turn out too bad so can't complain.

I am going to TRY to do a Layout every evening this week as a challenge - not sure how i will do as I tend to spend hours playing around BUT I did the page above pretty quickly so as long as I keep them simple I may be OK.

Will report back on progress

Hope you are all well and have had a lovely weekend

Bex xx

Hi Bex,
thanks for the well wishes. Probably a one in a million even to be picked to be voted on, apparently only 20 songs, probably thousands of entries. Would be a lark if Simon Scowl actually heard one of my songs.. Ha!

I was talking about you the other night. I met up with some old friends from work, and one lady who used to be a bigwig executive is now working in the crafts industry, not sure exactly, but I mentioned all the challenges you do, the fantastic layouts. If I ever make it big, I want you to be creative designer for my album cover. :-)

Well, have a nice rest of the week. I'll be checking back for more photos. Will let you know if Simon Scowl told me my song was "Ghastly"... Ha!

Oh bank holidays are so much fun! why it wasn't even my first week in blighty nearly a deacde ago and I found myself in Brighton on first May bank holiday with no cash! Improvise I did.
I love the photos of you and Rachel, it was because of her music that I went to Southend nearly a year ago, taking a connector coach as the train station was closed. It's really wild by the seaside and I liked the fresh doughnuts, mainly EVERYONE was so nice.
I'm decoupaging this week and hope you blog about that sometime if you have indeed tried it i'm sure you are a queen at it.

love Amanda

Aw great photo of the Fuller sisters Bex! Rachel doesn't look very intimidating here!
:)

Love your nephew's layout too!

Thanks for your sweet comments on my blog...oh so dying eggs is an American thing? That's interesting. Do you have Easter egg hunts in the UK? We had one for the kids...they found them, then they hid them for the grown-ups. It was really fun!

You know, I think our moms would have been best mates.
My mom made alot of my clothes growing up - she even used to make me smocked dresses . She was very crafty...she used to hook rugs - dye and cut the wool make her own designs. Incredible stuff.
I know how you felt coming across your mom's handwriting- I have been going through my stuff -getting ready for my big move East...I found lots of books where she had written on the inside cover...tons of cards she had given us.
It's hard.
We both had very special moms, I think.

Have a lovely week!

Hi, Bex

Thanks for stopping by and your kind words. Glad you had a great family weekend and so special, finding those photos your mom had put away. I can't wait to see some other pictures of the girls in your younger days. Rachel needs some new pictures to use since she recycles those two fairly often. :-)

Wish I was as crafty as you. I have pictures in boxes mostly. They are sorted by year and occasion but now I'm mostly doing digital. I'm ashamed to say, I have about 400 photos of my oldest from her first two years of life, and about 40 photos of my youngest for his first two years! Bad mother, bad mother!

I did try and do a scrapbook of our Disney vacation. Got everything out and tried to get the kids to each do a page as well. After many hours, I think we got one page done... Can I ship them over to you?? The pictures, that is, not the kids although it sounds like they would have a blast spending some time with you!

Looking forward to more samples of your artistry and more photos of the girls!

Hola Bex!!

The snow page is beautiful and the photo is terrific, thanks for sharing!!

I've just finished my Easter holidays, today's been hard work again. Hope you've had a great weekend.

I enjoyed London very much, it's a lovely city and the gig was fantastic, but I had a problem, I lost all the photos I took. I've been quite sad for three days, but I feel better now as my friends sent me some they took...I think I need a new camera.
