News?

Nah none i am afraid but thought I would blog to say so as it seems a few folks are visiting.

SO PLEASE shout out a hello! I do visit back - OK so not immediately but I do have a stint once a week where I inflict my madness on your blog! SO it would be interesting to see who is reading.

So I am off now from work till Tuesday - BLISS. I like a lazy life.
I have an interview on Monday - YEAH I KNOW I had one last week and have been offered a perfectly acceptable job - but this one has a BIG list of bonus points - and a big list of NO NO's so I will go on Monday to the West End and see if I get offered it and then will FINALLY settle.
Tough one though - One is local and I love my work mates, the other has much faster career prospect, much more money ............ but could it unleash the workaholic Bex once again? Dunno. Will have to see my gut reaction on Monday as to whether I COULD be a proper career girl again but still be MAD CRAFTING BEX - cos that is what really floats my boat right now x

So roll on 3 full days of PJ's and crafting - HEAVEN.
Hope all who are reading are having a good day x
Love Bex

Hola Bex!!!

It's a difficult situation, but whatever you decide, don't stop doing what you really like. You will always have to be Mad Crafting Bex.

Good luck!!!!

Aloha.

However, I don't have a blog for you to visit in return. Sorry about that... why don't you just wave at my comment on your computer screen? That would do.

Hey Bex!

Cheers for the e-mail. I'll have a quick bit of sorting tomorrow....

...I have a situation with my job in the near future. With my position, I can only be promoted to a Senior or Lead coordinator after about 3 years, as I have Chemistry and Business degrees.
To go up t'ladder to a Safety Associate, I need another degree in 'life sciency-kinda field'. Company is hopefully sponsoring me to go to Uni of Herts at Hatfield, as it's the only uni that does a MSci in Pharmacovigilance (oh big word for after midnight!)

Oh well - I'll find out more at 9am meeting!!!

Regards,

Ben R

Hey Bex, good luck with the interview. I'd say the faster paced, career driven pony with the dollar bills flying by the way side is something you won't really know til you actually try it. Nobody says you have to stay there forever. I'd say if it's not too bad, try it, put away some cash and then in a couple of months you'll know if it's for you. Worst case scenerio you can quit with some cash in the bank, and go back to crafting and a slower pace job. Either way, trust your instincts and you'll be fine. Good Luck!

I go with Rance......take a chance on the higher pay, sock it away (yeah, like I ever could), and see what happens. But, be happy Bex. No one says you have to be 100% happy at work. Not everyone is that fortunate to LOVE their work....so go for it..if something drives you to be a workaholic...good for you!!!
You know I think you could have a little market here for personalized scrap books. I haven't worked out the details, like shipping and stuff....but, there are definetely enough NON-CRAFTY types around here, who appreciate your art, but could never do it themselves (me for a shining example)
How many pictures would it take to make a fabulous book?
Your customers should send you pictures with some information about each picture.
Customers should indicate what type of book they want : ie; anniversary scrapbook, baby book, 50th birthday bash...etc.
Your customers should know, that they are getting a customized book, that is an artistic creation, made especially for them by you. Your artistic expression is what they are paying for..it's unique, and cannot be dictated by customer; they should know, that there is no room for, "oh but I don't like the color red..bla bla. can you do it over" NO! customer should be satisfied, naturally, but this is ART afterall....if you commission an artist for his/her work, you cannot return it just because you don't like the colors he/she used.....ok, that was long winded, but this is my amatuer business plan for you, ha ha!

Now, I am off to PROM dress shop with my 15 year old....she is going to the SENIOR prom...which is a little nerve wracking for a FRESHMAN girl = she is too young to be dating a senior boy, but she is. He treats her well, and is sweet, so we are going with the flow........PRAY FOR ME! LOL

Hi Bex!
I say just listen to your heart...or your wallet!
No seriously- it could be a great opportunity for you - you'd have more cash for crafting which you could do on weekends, right?
Have a nice, relaxing break.
Can't wait to see your next creation!
Did you ever use my tree photo, btw?
Take care,
Lots of love,
Suexxx

Hi Bex, I enjoy when you come by and visit.
Ok, when you do!!!! (just kidding) Summer has been here a year now from her rescue from the wilds of Kentucky. And June will be a year old in a week. Have a good weekend. can't wait, I am going to see Ricky Martin next week. The man is amazing on a stage.

Go with whatever your gut tells you is the right choice. You'll know which way to decide when the time comes.

Side note to Ben - I work in the pharma industry as well so unfortunately, I know what Pharmacovigilance means. My prior company made floors and ceilings so my big joke is that I came from a world where we made products out of dirt and moved into a highly regulated environment - quite an adjustment, let me tell you!

Bex - always good to have you visit. I'll have to update my post so you have something new to see. Enjoy your time off!

Bex - a few comments.. I think a career girl isnt defined by gaingul employment. A career girl is someone who has a direction and pursues it.. which you do.. so no question.

Chin up, smile and be happy, life is good

I guess interviews are like buses LOL

Are you going to write a list of pros and cons of each job or just screw up bits of paper and pick one out of a hat?
