Harry ............

Introducing my latest "Star" for scrapping! This is the gorgeous Harry who is my best mates little boy - and I cannot wait to meet him when he flies in from Australia in October!
So until then you better get used to this little man as I am going to make an album all about him for his mummy to use at his 18th birthday :)


This really isn't my normal scrapping style and I really don't like it - but I had HUGELY limited stash as it is for work and only allowed to use certain things. Guess it is a good job that Harry is so flippin cute!


I have actually been doing quite a few challenges and stuff the last week or so - and OMG I have major PC issues - If this blog ever goes up it has taken me about a week to load the images up!
I am off to defrag the PC, and rerun full virus checks on this and other PC in the house as something is MEGA wrong somewhere!

Right so on to the next wee card.
This was a template challenge set over at Just Bex forum.
It has been so great - members have been setting challenges and they have all been fab! Must do that more often!
So a very simple card from me again as I have limited supplies I can use as it is for one fixture at work .............



And this one I think i can stretch to fit the "use 3 patterned papers" challenge!
Again simple cos I is simple!

And I have a few more to upload but I am losing the will to live with this darned PC so will be back in small doses to get them uploaded!

Apart from my PC issues all is well with Bex. Life is in fact pretty darned good - heightened even more last night watching the footie with the lads and gaining great satisfaction that Chelsea have no silverware this season :)

Only shame is that it went to Man U not liverpool, but I can live with that for now!

A Quick Catch Up!

Ooh ages again since I blogged - busy Bex!

So what have I been up to .........

Well I had a lovely 4 days in Prague - I really would recommend Prague to anyone.
It is such a beautiful city - the buildings are so impressive and it is really weird to see such different styles of architecture sitting right next door to each other - you really can see the 4 styles throughout the city.
Other highlithgts of Prague - the food. It was just fantastic - I pigged out big time. We didn;t have one bad meal, we ate heaps and it was all so cheap.
And of course the beer - if you hunt out the right bars it is mega cheap and there is nothing more I like than a bit of people watching with a pint :)

So then I got back from hols and back to work.
Good news folks - I am now Deputy Store Manager at work - OMG how on earth can Hobbycraft let me loose in one of their stores? I mean I though they were flying close to the wind when they gave me my previous job :) So little crafter Bex is over the moon and looking forward to taking the store to even better levels than we are at now. (See I can be a bit business like :))

And of course there is the forum that I have neglected terribly these last couple of months in my quest for Hobbycraft world domination :)
Luckily I have some fantastic forum members who are hosting their own big challenge week - I mean just how cool is that!
So OK I have worked all weekend so only completed one so far but OMG did you know you can make gift bags from an envelope?
Yes Mister - a genuine normal flippin envelope = I am well impressed - thanks to Sarah.
Oh and for the record it is 3D with little side flaps and everything - bad pic this end!

FAFFING!!!!!

Is all I have done today!
I got up late - 10.30 - lazy Bex :)

I have an interview to prep for and have a HUGE list of examples etc to go through but instead today I have .......

Done all my washing
Tidied my bedroom
Poop Scooped the garden (nice!)
Pottered around watching kids TV
Spent 2 hours cooking a nice dinner
Had a really long soak in the bath and nearly covered upstairs in bubbles cos I got a bit carried away with the jacuzzi feature!
Erm watched the Footie - Liverpool let me down so now NOT impressed .........

AND STILL the prep pack is sitting here staring at me!
So OK how on earth does silly crafter Bex come up with examples of commercial awareness & analytical thinking & Dealing with change etc ...... oh and absorb and remember a huge amount of financial figures ..............
Oh and on top of that I am still trying to work out what time i need to leave home to do the DREADED journey to Gatwick Airport for 11am! At the moment I am thinking around 7am although at this rate it may be earlier to allow me time for a coffee and time to answer these bloomin questions!!!

Crikey - I am such a disorganised little wotsit!
Anyway, I am avoiding the difficult questions that I have to answer in order to look like a fantastic manager so off I go in search of some long words to put down :)

Or shall I just sleep on it and get up earlier than stupid o clock?

Bex Reporting in!

Well hello to anyone who actually still comes back to read this neglected place!

Quick update for you all from the land of Bex.

Craft Update - I actually have made quite a lot the last week or so and in typical Bex style didn't bother to photograph it before giving it away! I had a few bits to make for my boss who was leaving on Friday and only finished them late Thursday night - you will just have to trust me that they were OK :)

Work Update - Not sure where to start! Still love work, still very busy - I have worked all weekend and am now starting to count down the days to my first holiday hours taken in 6 months! I have an interview on Wednesday for a job so keep fingers crossed - I won't say anything that will jinx anything cos I am weird like that! Hopefully some news will be shared soon!

HOLIDAY UPDATE - OK I am now a little bit excited! I am off to Prague with my Dad on the 30th and I am now getting that holiday vibe! It is only for 4 days but I am SO looking forward to it. I live at home at the moment so of course see my Dad loads - but 4 days away together will be just lovely. And of course I have researched Prague and seen the beautiful scenery .......... and the fact they have low priced lager ......... and beads ........... it will be fun!
I just hope that my step mum doesn't have 4 nights of my dog barking as I have never left her overnight before! I have a vision of the cats being kicked out and Maisie finally being top dog on/in their bed just so Sheila gets a good nights kip!

Right OK that is a brief update from me :)
Honest - to be a better blogger is on my list - it is just not anywhere near the top of stuff I have going on right now!

Has it really been a month!

Oh My Goodness - I cannot believe it has been a month since I blogged.
All those good intentions to blog straight out of the window then!

Anyway, just a quick check in to say I am still alive - just :)
Work has been really busy but good fun as always. I have actually done so much crafting for stuff for the store displays - but it is always dark when I finish and I take them into work the next day so no pics - silly Bex.
Of course I don't expect anyone to believe me - although you could pop into work and see I am telling the truth!

Right so not a lot else new in bex world I don't think.
I have a long list of cards and things to make and as I am sitting here in Brand new PJ's and dressing gown I may just stay in them all day and chill out.
In fact that sounds like a very good idea.

HSMS - Confused!

OK so I thought I would put the brand new camera to use and actually start to try to improve from bad to poor!!
So I checked in on the HSMS site to see what the latest prompt is.
Today it is "Confused"!
Well, OK Jaws above is actually quite confused at the moment.
All his mates are chilling out in the cold weather and mostly at the bottom of the pond.
Jaws however is very much alive and wanting to feed and suck fingers ....... yeah I know it is gross but he is quite cute and I do tickle his nose every morning whilst having a fag!
So here is Jaws yet again confused as to why I am not hand feeding him loads of food.
Don't worry Jaws - it will soon be feeding time again x

OMG another blog from Bex!

I am getting good at this blogging lark ........ in fact I think I might become a regular :)



So what have I been up to? Well today was work as usual - lets leave the work talk at that.
Now to PLAY time.
Got home to a nice King Prawn Stir Fry - YUM - Happy Bex.
So tonight I have been playing with one of the challenges over at Just Bex Forum (Great forum - we share the same name :))

So can we make a present for someone?
SURE I CAN. I love making presents.
So I chose someone VERY SPECIAL and thought I would make them a Photo Cube from the white box ^^^^^^ up there.





One more side still to do and apologies for the pics but tis dark here now.
Oh and on the last one I think the middle of the blue flower has fallen off - PMSL - I SO should leave things to dry before mauling them and taking pics. Anyway there was a rather nice MakingMemories "Adore" thingy in there - I will repair it before I wrap it up and give it to ......

More Challenges!

Ooh I am having SUCH a nice lazy Sunday!
I have been playing with the challenges over at the Just Bex Forum
We have a big challenge weekend running and I still have about a billion to complete but I am working my way through them!
This one is to take inspiration from the following picture and incorporate it into a card or LO. I have gone for a card as (a) I have LOADS to make for the shops I supply and (b) LO's just take me ages and I am on a mission! So here is my take on it - and I have made 6 for the shop.

The next challenge I have tackled is this weeks DCM dare.

I may have slightly cheated but I am sure they will let me off!

The dare is actually to make a card for someone you love featuring love or friendship. Well I am not sure that I love anyone enough to make them a card :)

So I have opted for Friendship as I am in desperate need of some boys cards!

So yep I am a cheat - am I bovvered though? Nah!!!!!
Right must crack on - loads to do, not much time and all that xx

For Grace - A Maise Photoshoot!xx

Well I thought I would try a Maisie photoshoot as it is such a nice morning.
BAD IDEA - She is a naughty minx and clearly doesn't like the camera!
So here is Maisie totally ignoring the "come" command. Ah good she came. So hence the Sit command

Now OK Maisie I know you love Mummy but stop the squinty eyes ........ we want to see those big brown eyes!

Nope Maisie you still don't have it right - I know you love me and are giving me love blinkies but OPEN YOUR EYES!

OK out comes the tongue - such a rude girl :)

Think I will get the camera out again when she is asleep - SO much easier!

Sunny Saturday!

Wow it is such a nice day here - blue sky, sun out and nice and crispy cold!

I LOVE days like this - I have taken the dog to the park and had a good play with all the mucky stinky little (and big) dogs that we met.

I have started far too many craft projects - so now my room is a total pigsty with half finished cards, canvases and LO's all over the place ........... ah well there is always the Guest Bedroom to sleep in!

So what have I achieved ....... well not much really. I have stopped starting new challenges and tonight will focus on finishing the ones I have started!

I have made about 20 Mothers Day cards for the shops I supply - though quite why I did them without fitting them to challenges I don't know!

Anyhow here is one that fits one of the challenges over at the Just Bex Forum.

Set by the fabby Sue the challenge is to incorporate a ribbon, 2 blooms and 3 patterned papers into a card.

Is Bex Back?

Hmm I might be - I have decided i am going to TRY to take this blogging lark seriously ........ so please do check back for the next week or so and see if I manage to keep this darned thing updated!

So in Bex world what has happened?
Well I have mostly been on a First Aid course all week.
Lots of bandages, lots of fake nasty role plays where you feel like a total plank. (I HATE role plays)
Lots of information to absorb ........
Lots of lying on the floor being pulled into the recovery position as I was the tiniest!
Lots of food - I knew it would be dull so did a HUGE junk food shop and went on a mission to eat my way through the week. I have put on 4 pounds in a week - FAB.
And then today I had the nasty assessment day. Normally I am fine with stuff like this, exams and such like ........... but when it comes to first aid it brings back memories of college.
I had to do a 26 week First Aid intensive course and it was HORRID.
On exam day out of 20 of us only 8 passed (Luckily I did) and the rest had to redo the entire 26 week course again.
So yep - me and First Aid courses have a history that instills fear in me.

So this week i have been confident, fine in fact.......... I already knew the info - hell 26 weeks of it is enough not to forget the basics to see me through a 4 day course.
But OMG did I shake going into the exam!
Nasty nasty stuff and luckily I passed and can return to work as a qualified first aider (DO NOT injure yourself in my store as my skills are pretty shite, my "bedside" manner is worse!)

So now I am relaxing and getting ready for a weekend of challenges over at Just Bex Forum.
Tis fab - there are loads of challenges and I have done no work towards it so can play with them all like the rest of the gang :)

Right will head off now and finish my well deserved glass of wine x

Quite Simply Knackered

So I am sort of sorry for lack of blog updating.

Some things have to come first though and at the minute I have multiple things demanding my time and energy - which is seriously lacking!

So yep I am OK, Busy at work, busy with family demands, busy with most things tbh.

So I am around, I plan to be around more as always - but for now I will just check in and say a big Hi to anybody who happens to stop by expecting an update xxx

Sunday .................

Well I have spent most of the weekend pushing paper around and getting nowhere slowly!
So I thought I would give up on the Layouts for a while and make some simple cards for the shop
I came across the Papertake Challenge Blog and thought I would play!
A nice challenge to use red on a card - so I have made a batch of the above - and just in time as they have a new challenge up tomorrow.

Right - Back to the clipboard that I am trying to do for someone at work.

Oh - and as for the eggs .......... I will try to remember to take my camera into work tomorrow so that you can see them in all their glory ......... PMSL

Template Challenge

Crikey - I have actually completed a challenge for the Just Bex Forum!
Sue set one of her fabulous template challenges so I thought I would use it to make up a set of Valentines cards for the shops - only about another 94 to do .........
AND If I hadb't been such a lazy cow today I may have achieved a bit more.
I didn't wake up till 10.30 which is not like me .......... and then by 2 o clock I was back in bed till 6! What a lazy moo, but I guess I needed to catch up on some sleep. Just hope I sleep tonight now as I am wide awake now!
Right - off to watch TV and make some more cards x

I am a serious crafter ............

Not!!!! I have a long list of LO's and cards I wamt to make.
I have a long list of fab challenges from various blogs and forums.
And instead I am about to tackle 8 of these disgusting eggs.
I HATE Styrofoam, I hate eggs, I hate cheap and tacky embellishments
But yes, this is my latest project for work to turn these 8 nasty eggs into something stunning to encourage people to buy them - I think we only have about 850 of them to sell!

I will report back later this afternoon with some very tacky eggs!

Happy New Year to you all!

Firstly I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas and New Year.
Thankyou for all you kind comments - I had a lovely Xmas at my sisters with the family.
Too much food, too much drink & loads of fun - it all went too quickly though!
New Year I worked through but am enjoying it still so that was fine by me - I have never been one to do much New Year.

So now we are in 2008 and I have a long list of things I want to achieve this year and I will let you know as and when I achieve them!
One of them is to actually be a better blogger and participate more in the forum.
I thought I would ease myself in gently with a new challenge called "Shape Shifters"!
I'll see how it goes on the forum and see if it is something we can do regularly to helps us all make the cards we need.
So basically a simple guide of what shapes have to appear on your card, and how many times ........... you can add any embellishments etc you like on top of the shapes.
So the shapes ..........

And my very simple effort - I am feeling simple x
